Ducklings Day Nurseries aims to promote the good health of all its members. One of our most deeply held beliefs is that all foods and drinks consumed must be healthy, balanced and nutritious. We incorporate a wholesome diet within the nursery menus and use a variety of good quality fruit and vegetables. In addition to this, we ensure that the meat and fish used within the dishes are never processed and are obtained from traceable suppliers and farms.

The nurseries have specially trained cooks who prepare the snacks and meals on the premises. Two substantial hot meals are offered to the children on a daily basis for both their lunch and their tea. In addition to this, the children have access to fruit and carbohydrate snacks. Milk and fresh drinking water is provided throughout each day. The cooks are aware of current food hygiene legislation and all meals are prepared under strict standards. Any allergies and religious beliefs are respected and catered for as much as possible during food preparation.

Ducklings Day Nurseries adopts the ‘You Are What You Eat’ philosophy. This approach has been recognised since the nursery has gained the Healthy Business Award in light of its nutritious menus and healthy eating policies.
